This tool from Crowd Computing Systems automates crowdsourcing projects. We use it at IEI to run campaigns on the Amazon Mechanical Turk, the world’s largest crowdsourcing platform. (More on WorkFusion.)
We use WorkFusion for a variety of processes. It works for simple, low-end tasks such as appending URLs, email addresses, and physical addresses, as well as for medium-complex tasks that go from in-house to the crowd and back. At the high end, we’ve built a distributed call center that allows us to tap local callers across the world to perform data updating tasks.
The strengths of the software are in:
- its ability to tap into the speed of crowdsourced projects (up to 1,000 records processed/hour)
- the fact that it is always “on” 24/7/365
- its burstability (stopping and starting quickly)
- its simplicity (taming the unwieldly masses)
Its componentized nature also means that numerous powerful “machines” can be easily plugged into complex processes, allowing processes to evolve and become more efficient over time.
