Information Evolution and Stelae Technologies

Information Evolution, Inc. (IEI) and Stelae Technologies, the leading provider of solutions for extracting data from unstructured files, recently announced the extension and expansion of their strategic relationship. Khemeia™, the Stelae proprietary software, will be the exclusive tool used by IEI for the extraction of text and images from a range of unstructured source file formats such as PDF, TIFF, Quark Xpress, Microsoft Word, and Adobe InDesign.

The alliance leverages Stelae’s proprietary data extraction technology by having IEI’s software team configure and deploy Khemeia™ and then using IEI’s India-based data quality teams to prepare clean XML output, helping IEI’s information industry customers avoid extensive investments in technology or human resources.

IEI President Matt Manning commented: “One of the toughest jobs that information industry firms face is the conversion of unstructured information in PDF and other file types to structured formats. Khemeia’s proprietary technology is quick, accurate, and cost-effective tool for doing just that.” Earlier in 2012 IEI announced that Connotate (New Brunswick, New Jersey) will be its exclusive partner for web data extraction technology and Manning sees the two partnerships as strongly complementary. “Our customers’ businesses rely on extracting data from a wide variety of sources and adding value to it via structure and proprietary software. These two partnerships allow us to extract data from virtually all forms of unstructured or semi-structured data sources with great accuracy and at the lowest possible cost.”

“IEI is yet another outsourcing partner using our technology to supercharge their data management processes,” Aruna Schwartz, VP of Business Development for Stelae, added. “Khemeia™ was designed to handle complex extraction tasks at very high volumes so firms like IEI that handle these types of ‘big data’ projects on a regular basis are some of our best customers. Our expanded relationship will now include the training of more configuration experts at IEI’s Indian offices, joint marketing efforts, and expansion into new markets. ”
